The final conference of the project " Museum Passport " , organized by the Euroregion in partnership with the Museum of the City of Novi Sad , was held on Monday , 17 June in the Museum of the City of Novi Sad, at  Petrovaradin fortress. In the second call of the IPA cross-border cooperation program between Hungary and Serbia , on 01.01.2012. began the project " Musseum pass" which will provide local residents and foreign visitors a discount on tickets to the 53 museums in Vojvodina and in two counties in Hungary , and the validity period of the document shall be five years .

The aim of the project is to create a more effective cooperation between museums , galleries and exhibition spaces in the territory of the two countries and to establish the museum network , which would, with the introduction of a museum passport, stimulate more visit the temples of culture involved in the network and a direct impact on the improvement of cultural tourism.

Mr. Atila Hornok , assistant project manager of the project said :

This  cooperation started after the second call for cooperation between Serbia and Hungary . With the help of the Euroregion partners network in Hungary, at the contest for improving  of  the culture of the region , the extent of the development and mapping of culture , we managed to get this project. The very idea of the museum passport has been known since the time of former Yugoslavia and today in Europe there are hundreds of similar programs . This particular project is part of a new kind of tourism - cultural tourism , which will allow interested parties to visit the museums and the famous complexes that represent the tradition of a people and improve this part of the story. In this way we are trying to transform the local population into cultural tourists , who will spread this kind of tourism in our region. As for the others, the following elements , which include passports , website , etc. , it is all done in order to promote cultural offerings , so that as many people as possible can inform themselves about this project. It is our intention to raise the visits of "cultural " tourists in the region for at least 10 to 15 % , I think this can be achieved.

All museum projects in Western Europe , they all started as funded projects backed either from the state or from the local community , and eventually grew into commercial products . Today, most of these projects are earning for themselves. Museums receive nice funds from the sale of museum passport which they can use to buy equipment , organize conferences, and other things. By the methodological studies, this project is predicted to eventually develop into a commercial when it will be able to maintain themselves , develop and prosper. Till then , museum passports will be given at cultural events , exhibitions , predominantly to those who have so far found interest in culture and the arts. 30,000 passports have been printed and the aim for them is to be 30,000 ambassadors who will visit as many museums, which will spread the story about it, and move people to visit them. In addition to passports , 30,000 brochures will be distributed among the partners . A certain amount will be distributed to museums, tourist organizations of Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Serbia, to be shared with their associates. In Vojvodina, the benefits involve a discount museum ticket price of 50 %, and in Hungary, is a bit more complicated, because the tickets are expensive, and some institutions have accepted a discount, and some haven't.

The museum passports are supported by IPA funds of European Union, and the project holders are the Danube Region , Maros , Tisza and Körös and the Museum of City of Novi Sad. These documents will enable the citizens of Vojvodina benefited  tours around the museums in the counties of Bacs Kiskun ( Bacs - Kiskun ) and Congrad ( Csongrád ) while visiting Hungary - informed Atila Hornok
