Hotel Grand Mayer

Built in 1893 as a luxury hotel owned by Imre Mayer, the building replaced the previously popular tavern "Zeleni venac" which existed from 1754 until the demolition and construction of a new hotel. This grand building was built in the  neobaroque, has two floors and a dome in the central part of the roof. In 1916 the owner becomes Dundjerski Lazar. After World War II hotel  is nationalized and named hotel "Sloboda". As national assets it was given to the JNA army ,was bought by the present owner of the object, Vojvodjanska banka. In 1918. in this building the National Assembly was held, in which the decision about the joining of Banat, Backa and Baranja Kingdom of Serbia was made.
